A Moment of Joy

You never know when something will happen that will surprise and delight you.

As I was walking through the parking lot, on my way to get groceries.  I smiled at a woman loading her car with hanging baskets of wilted petunias.

Just as I passed her, she called out to me.  I turned to see her waving me back toward her.

Not sure what she needed, I walked back over.

Smiling, she said something in Spanish and handed me one of the baskets.

I understood enough that there were no more, and this was for me.  She said "agua" and then motioned big growth.

Her daughter watched us as we tried to communicate.

It was a moment of pure joy.

More Joy and Satisfaction

  • Practice more deliberate intent before I act
  • Pay attention to how I feel
  • Appreciate all of the abundance I have right now
  • Trust the process and get ready for what’s next
  • Focus more on my heart’s desire and less on outside events
  • Remind myself that contrast does not need to be painful
  • Acknowledge all that is in the process of becoming
  • Look for thoughts that are in harmony with me
  • Have more fun

Unexpected Joy

I love those beautiful unexpected moments in life that surprise and delight me.  Like returning from spending the holiday with my daughter and her family when she called to say my 1 year old granddaughter had been asking for me since I left.   Or turning on the television late at night and seeing a concert with the reunited Mavericks.  It’s those simple and beautiful things that truly make life worth living.

Manifesting Joy and Expansion

It is very interesting when I talk to other people about how I personally create what I want in my life.  They always want to know how I do it but then somehow don't seem to like my answer.   Sometimes the concept is too far outside of their beliefs for them to hear it and they immediately dismiss it as luck or some great coincidence.  With some of the more spiritually minded some will become a bit defensive, pick apart my process or even suggest that that somehow my life is all about the acquisition of money and things.

My response is very simple - I manifest for the pure joy that I receive from the growth and expansion.  Everything I do in my life is toward that purpose.  When I feel myself getting stuck or even sliding back into a place of sorrow or stagnation I have to do something dramatic to shift my vibration and get back into that wondrous mode of pure and blissful creation.

Destination - Joy

It really doesn’t matter how I get there, all I know is that I will always be happy.  Somehow, throughout the wild journey of my life I have come out on the other side and as I look back it amazes me how the twists and turns have become the perfect path.  A road I would never have expected to lead me here but it did and the destination is joy.

Joy Arises From Within

In the "Power of Now" Eckhart Tolle defines pleasure as something that comes from the external but that true joy arises from within.

What a beautiful distinction!

Pure Joy

As I began preparing tomorrow’s Thanksgiving dinner for my family, it occurred to me what a magical transformation has occurred in my life.

Many, many years ago when I was hurt or upset I would bake bread. It happened so often back then that my freezer was always full of homemade baked goods. It was always so rewarding that the more I worked the dough the better the bread turned out! What a fantastic outlet for releasing my frustration and anger.

Now, as I pull the fresh dinner rolls from the oven I smile, knowing these were made with pure joy.

Heart Smiles

There are few things in this world as wonderful as smiling from your heart!

It happens when an unexpected moment of joy catches me off guard and sends my spirit soaring.

I love how spontaneous life is and all of the precious moments that make my heart smile!

Neutral

I met a man recently who said he felt neutral about his life – about whether or not he had grandchildren or ever met the love of his life…. How can someone be neutral?! Life is the most exhilarating experience and I do not understand not feeling every possible emotion connected to it.

Perhaps that is too much for some but for me it is never enough. I want to touch, taste and feel every precious drop that life has to offer and I will settle for nothing less than sheer and perfect joy! You’ll recognize me when I die – I’ll be the woman with the smile on her face!

Simple Pleasures

I am always so amazed at how much joy can be found in the simplest of things. Last night as I prepared my dinner I looked out of the window. I smiled and shut everything off so I could just stand and watch the lovely setting. It was like a miniature wild kingdom in my front yard. There were several little finches at the bird feeder in the tree and rabbits peacefully grazing in the grass.

It reminded me very much of when my girls were growing up and we had pets and animals of all sorts in our back yard. Those beautiful, simple moments were the happiest times of my life....

On with the dance

Mark Twain wrote "On with the dance, let joy be unconfined". I don't know if there is any higher purpose in our lives but to seek joy.

Someone told me once that selfishness is an underrated virtue. At the time I thought that was a very odd statement but I've come to believe it is true. If we are happy and content with ourselves then we have so much more to give. Without it we have nothing.

So I intend to love, laugh, play and dance with all of my heart and live a truly joyful life!

Unspeakable Joy

Unspeakable Joy - Just saying that makes me smile! Knowing that I have the choice of what I want my life to be is very empowering. I can choose joy or sorrow, delight or despair, fear or excitement - it is all up to me.

I don't know who wrote it but there are lyrics to a song that I just love. "If I live to be a hundred I'll die young - Life is like a ladder, I'll dance on every rung - If I live to be a hundred I'll die young!"

Every morning I wake grateful to have another day. For every new day holds the fantastic potential for Unspeakable Joy!
