Fate or Faith

I’m always surprised and delighted at how the universe delivers exactly what I want in a way that I would never have expected.  Any attempt I make to manipulate or coerce how it will happen, only results in a less than satisfactory outcome and a lot of struggle along the way.

Whereas, if I can release control or resistance, even slightly, I can begin to see the beauty of how everything fits together.

Synergy – that perfect cooperation of things coming together to become greater than the sum of the individual components.

Perhaps, that is where the concept of fate or destiny comes from.  When that thing that you’ve always wanted seems to magically appear in your experience and you’re sure that you did not have the power to create it.

What you did have, is the power to allow it.

By letting go of trying to make something happen, you open yourself up to all possibilities.  Things you could never have planned or even imagined will show up and contribute to the unfolding.

The more faith you have that all is well and working out exactly as it needs to will increase the momentum of what is in the process of becoming.

By simply giving something the time and space to grow, it will become the best version of itself.

Keep the Faith

It is always easier to forget than to remember but we must trust that everything will work out exactly as it needs to. Recently I was in a situation that was very frustrating and I did everything I could to find the positive side of it and was not very successful.

It did occur to me that this might be something good in disguise but I wasn’t totally convinced. I really should know better by now – I just laughed when I found out that by one thing not working the way I wanted was an avenue for something very important to be possible!

They say God works in mysterious ways - all we have to do is keep the faith!

Faith

To me faith is a total and ultimate belief in something that you cannot see or touch but you know exists.

At a very early age we are taught what our parents and our community believes. What to think, how to act, how to feel... and we are expected to conform. Don Miguel Ruiz writes about this in The Four Agreements, it is one of the ways that we are domesticated.

I was very fortunate to have an unusual life growing up. The circumstances were difficult and painful but I learned so much from all of it. Through it all I had faith! Faith that I would discover what was true for me and that everything that happened was for my highest good.
